Sales tax
CardOps can help you account for sales tax on expenses. You configure two things:
- Tax rate — your applicable sales tax percentage
- Application mode — how the tax is applied
Application modes
You can choose between two modes:
- Automatic — sales tax is applied to every expense automatically when it’s created or imported
- Calculate button — a button appears on expenses that you click to apply the calculated tax amount
The calculate button mode is recommended. When entering a quick expense like a UPS shipping cost where sales tax is already included in the amount, you don’t want the tax applied twice. The calculate button gives you control over when tax is added.
